Wiley Research Visits Jakarta State Islamic University Library, Discusses Digital Access to Global Scientific Research
UIN Jakarta Library Building, News Online - In order to strengthen the ecosystem and encourage the acceleration of technology-based academic research, the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library received an official visit from Wiley Research, one of the leading international academic publishers, on Tuesday (15/04).
The visit was led by Rajinder Singh, Senior Regional Wiley Research Pte. Ltd. accompanied by Ie Chiau, was welcomed by the Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, Ph.D., in the Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of UIN Jakarta Library Building.
In his presentation, Rajinder Singh introduced a number of innovations that Wiley is developing in digital research and technology-based scientific publications. These include scientific reference search technology designed to improve the efficiency and quality of academic research.
“Through this visit, we hope to provide the latest digital access and solutions that can support the development of scientific research with international reputation at UIN Jakarta,” said Rajinder Singh.
Meanwhile, Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, Ph.D., said that the visit from Wiley Research is expected to encourage the improvement of the quality of academic research at UIN Jakarta campus. “We are committed to expanding access to global scientific resources and can have a direct impact on the development and research productivity of the UIN Jakarta academic community,” said Agus Rifai.
The meeting was also attended by a team of Librarians, including Mudianah Mahmud, S.IP., (Collection Development Coordinator), Heru Widodo, S.IP (User Services Coordinator) and Ahmad Nawawi, Amd (Digital Collection Librarian), who also discussed the integration of Wiley's digital platform in supporting campus research needs.
The meeting was interactive, Wiley Research also presented various features and advantages of its digital platform that supports access to quality international journals.
It is hoped that this visit can provide opportunities in access to database utilization to strengthen digital information literacy, to the provision of digital solutions to support the scientific research of the UIN Jakarta academic community. *RMr
