UIN Jakarta Library to hold Library Festival 2024, to respond to Digitalization challenges
UIN Jakarta Library News Online - State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library will hold the 2024 Library Festival, a prestigious event designed to answer the challenges of digitization in the world of libraries and literacy. The event will take place for 5 days, starting from May 27-31, 2024 at UIN Jakarta Library, which will be attended by various groups, ranging from students, lecturers to the general public.
“This festival will be filled with various interesting and educational activities, various interesting activities will be held in this series of events, ranging from seminars, workshops, meet & greet with authors, talklibs with professors, to library exhibitions.” Said Agus Rifai (Head of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library) when met in his office, on the 3rd floor of UIN Jakarta library building.
Agus continued, “This festival carries the theme: “Me, You and the Library become Us in the Digital Age”, which aims for cross-generational elaboration and utilization of digital technology in literacy development, with a focus on strengthening digital skills and digital literacy.”
When met separately, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar (Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta) expressed his hope that this Library Festival can be the first step for UIN Jakarta Library to continue to innovate and transform towards the digital era. “We are committed to making the library a modern and accessible information center for the entire academic community and the wider community. This festival is a concrete proof of that commitment,” he said.
With a series of activities designed to raise literacy awareness and skills, the 2024 Library Festival is expected to be an important pivot for the transformation of libraries into the digital era. (RMr)
