Prof. Nasir: "Don't Chase Number One, But Be the Best"
Main Auditorium - Jakarta, April 23, 2024 - Prof. H. Muhammad Nasir, Ak., M.Si., Ph.D., delivered an important message to the leadership and academic community of UIN Jakarta when giving a lecture in the Halalbihalal event at the Harun Nasution Auditorium Building, Tuesday (23/4/2024). This event carries the theme "Merajutkan Ukhuwah, Meraih Kemajuan: Together Realizing UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta with Global Reputation" and attended by all leaders and academicians of UIN Jakarta.
In his lecture, Prof. Nasir emphasized the importance of focusing on global competition as the key to university success. "The key to success is if all elements in the study program focus on global competition, God willing," he explained. He invited the entire academic community to not only pursue the number one position, but to be the best in everything they do.
"We should not chase number one, but be the best. With a new spirit, let us actualize our common goals," he said enthusiastically. This message is expected to motivate all elements in UIN Jakarta to work hard and collaborate in achieving the vision of a globally reputable university.
This Halalbihalal event is also an important moment to strengthen ukhuwah and togetherness among the leadership and academic community of UIN Jakarta. With a warm and family atmosphere, this event is expected to increase the enthusiasm and commitment of all parties in realizing common goals.
Prof. Nasir, who is also the Commissioner of Bank Syariah Indonesia and former Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education for the 2014-2019 period, provided insightful insights on how to improve university quality and productivity. He likened the pursuit of a global reputation to a form of worship consisting of shari'a, tarekat, and hakikat, all of which must be applied in the pursuit of that goal.
