UIN Jakarta Library Laboratory, News Online - New students of the Master Program of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta received special briefings related to the utilization of UIN Jakarta Library services, Tuesday (April 15, 2025). This activity aims to strengthen academic literacy and improve students' ability to access various digital scientific information sources available.

Also present was the Head of FDI Master's Study Program at UIN Jakarta, Dr. Ade Pahrudin, Lc., M.A., who emphasized the importance of mastering library services since the beginning of the study period. According to him, postgraduate students are required to actively conduct research and scientific studies sourced from trusted academic literature.

“This briefing is not only an introduction to the facility, but part of the academic strategy to form students who are digital literate and independent in scientific research,” said Dr. Ade.

The briefing material was delivered directly by the Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, Ph.D., explaining in depth the various excellent services available at UIN Jakarta Library. Starting from the utilization of e-resources subscribed by UIN Jakarta Library, starting access to reputable international journals, to guidelines for using UIN Jakarta Digital Library facilities. He also emphasized that students have full access to digital collections through the official portal that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

"UIN Jakarta Library not only provides physical books, but also opens a window to the academic world through thousands of journals and e-books that can be accessed anytime and from anywhere. This is an important resource to support graduate studies and research," said Agus Rifai.

In addition to technical explanations, students are also invited to get to know the digital catalog system, the campus scientific repository, and tips on using databases so that research becomes more focused and efficient.

"All students have legal and full access to journals and digital collections. This is a great opportunity to strengthen the base of research and quality scientific work," said Agus Rifai. He also gave a live demonstration on the use of the UIN Jakarta Library portal and tips on how to search for scientific references effectively.

A total of 15 new students in the 2024/2025 academic year, consisting of 10 male students and 5 female students.

This debriefing activity is a strategic first step in creating a strong and technology-based research culture among UIN Jakarta graduate students.
