Librarians from UIN Jakarta Attend The 1st APPTIS Conference 2025, Discuss Strategic Library Issues
Malang, News Online – The University of Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Malang Library is hosting the ‘1st Annual Conference of APPTIS (Association of Islamic Higher Education Libraries) 2025’, which will take place over three days from June 23–25, 2025. This inaugural conference marks a significant milestone in the consolidation and transformation of libraries at State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) amid the digital era and challenges related to budget efficiency.
With the theme “The Future of University Libraries Amid Budget Efficiency: Adaptation, Innovation, and Collaboration,” the APPTIS Conference 2025 is not only an academic forum but also a strategic space to discuss policy directions, service innovations, and synergies among libraries in the Islamic higher education environment.
The APPTIS Conference 2025 series of activities will also include a National Working Meeting (Rakernas), National Seminar, National Workshop, and Call for Papers from academics, librarians, and researchers in the field of information and libraries. This agenda is expected to formulate strategic steps for the development of an efficient, innovative, and collaborative library system.
As part of the PTKIN library network, the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library actively participated by sending two of its librarians, Ulpah Andayani, M.Hum. and Mudianah Mahmud, S.IP. Their presence reflects UIN Jakarta's commitment to supporting the development of libraries as centers of knowledge and information that are adaptive to the era of digital transformation.
“This conference is a reflective and collaborative space to address the future challenges of libraries. We hope that libraries in the PTKIN environment can become modern information centers that are connected nationally, both in terms of technology and academic networks,” said Ulpah Andayani on the sidelines of the conference on Tuesday (06/24).
This conference also served as a national consolidation event for PTKIN libraries to build literacy networks, discuss future challenges, and formulate new policy directions in line with the needs of the times. Issues such as collection digitization, reference service integration, and strengthening the role of librarians in higher education were the main topics of discussion during the forum.
With the holding of the 1st APPTIS Conference 2025, it is hoped that a collective commitment will emerge to strengthen the governance of PTKIN libraries in a sustainable and inclusive manner, as well as to address the needs of the academic community with responsive and competitive information services. *UA/MM/RMr
