UIN Jakarta Library Receives Grant for Tafsir Ilmi Science Verse Series
UIN Jakarta Library Building, News Online - State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library once again added to the collection of Islamic and science literature by receiving a grant of 'Tafsir Ilmi Series of Science Verses' from Mrs. Inti Istilah. This grant was submitted directly on Monday (17/03) and warmly received by the Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Mr. Agus Rifai, Ph.D.
On the occasion, Mrs. Inti Istilah said that this grant aims to enrich the insight of students and academics in understanding the relationship between the Qur'an and modern science. “The Tafsir Ilmi Science Verse Series book is the result of collaboration between scholars and science experts which aims to bridge Islamic understanding with the development of science,” she said.
“Hopefully this book grant will benefit the academic community of UIN Jakarta,” hoped Mrs. Inti istilah.
Mr. Agus Rifai, Ph.D., as the Head of UIN Jakarta Library, welcomed this grant and appreciated the contribution made. “We are very grateful for this grant. This collection will be an important reference for students, lecturers and researchers who want to explore the relationship between science and the Qur'an,” said Agus Rifai.
The grant consists of 14 copies of books in the Knowing Science Verses Series, which is the result of cooperation between the Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an, the Research & Development & Education Agency of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). These books explore various verses in the Qur'an that relate to scientific phenomena, ranging from astronomy, biology, physics, to medical science.
With the addition of this collection, it is hoped that students and academics of UIN Jakarta will be increasingly encouraged to develop studies on the integration of Islam and science. UIN Jakarta Library invites the entire academic community to utilize this collection as a reference in research and scientific discussions. *RMr
