This step is part of a strategy to strengthen academic literacy and support the achievement of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) at UIN Jakarta.
“The collection is being expanded gradually, taking into account academic needs and global reference trends. Our collection now covers various fields of study, from Islam, social sciences and humanities, to science and technology,” said Mudianah Mahmud, S.IP., Coordinator of Collection Development at the UIN Jakarta Library, in her statement on Thursday (June 12, 2025).

According to Mudianah, library digitization is a necessity in this era of information openness and high student mobility. “Digital transformation is key to modern library services. We want students to see the library not only as a place to borrow books, but as an active and dynamic knowledge ecosystem,” added Mudianah.
Commitment to Sustainable Literacy
UIN Jakarta – through its library, is not only a place for reading, but also a center for literacy, research, and scientific discussion. A number of information literacy activities have been carried out – in the near future, a number of information literacy training programs and student research strengthening programs will be held periodically.
“We want to create an active library, not just a place to read, but also a space for scientific interaction,” explained Mudianah.
With a collection that now totals 48,363 titles and continues to grow, the UIN Jakarta Library is further solidifying its strategic role in fostering an inclusive, progressive, and globally competitive academic culture. *RMr
