Mobile Service Innovation, More Interactive and Helping Students Find References Quickly and Accurately

UIN Jakarta Library Building, News Online – In the midst of a digital era that demands speed and high mobility, the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library has launched an innovative Mobile Service. This service is designed to respond to students' information needs quickly, flexibly, and efficiently.

Unlike conventional services, which wait for users to come to service staff, the concept of UIN Jakarta Library Mobile Service reverses the paradigm: librarians actively visit students. This service allows students to accurately access scientific references.

“Through this Mobile Library service, we want to bring information services closer to our readers,” said Heru Widodo, S.IP., Librarian at UIN Jakarta and Coordinator of Reader Services, on Monday (July 14, 2025).

Heru explained that this service was created in response to the need for modern literacy that is fast-paced and adaptive. The Librarian and Library Management Team is on hand to assist students in searching reference collections, online catalogs, and academic literacy consultation services.

Not only that, the presence of librarians also opens up space for educational interaction. Students can discuss, ask for guidance, and even get tips on information literacy that are relevant to their needs. “The library is no longer a boring place. Through this service, we want to create a dynamic and inclusive literacy ecosystem,” added Heru.

Not only does it make things easier, but the UIN Jakarta Mobile Library service also encourages the growth of a culture of literacy. Students are encouraged to be more active and independent in accessing various academic information sources. “We want to create an inclusive library ecosystem. Not just a place to store books, but an interactive space at the UIN Jakarta Library,” added Heru.

With this approach, students are more free to consult, discuss, and even obtain literature recommendations from librarians who are present in person.

The Mobile Library Service is part of a strategy for digital transformation and improving service quality based on user needs. With the motto “Library Every Space: Faster, Easier, and Closer,” it makes the library an open learning space that is responsive to the times. *RMr
