Game Over for Unskilled Human Resources! UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library Team Earns BSNP Certification

UIN Jakarta Library Building, Release — Amid ongoing scrutiny of human resource quality in higher education and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) reshaping the academic landscape, libraries can no longer hide behind bookshelves and digital catalogs. The old stereotype of libraries being just quiet spaces with stacks of books is gradually fading. Today, what matters most isn't just having collections, but the competence of the who manage and run library services.

15 Desember 2025-Pelatihan Teknologi Digital Sertifikasi BNSP (1)This is the reality being demonstrated by the work team of the Library at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. While many educational institutions are still busy discusing digital transformation in theory, the team has quietly taken a more concrete step: testing themsleves through a national certification process administreted by the Badan Nasional Sertfikasi Nasional (BNSP) —Indonesia’s National Professional Certification Agency.

The results are clear. On 23 February 2026, the team received their official BNSP certification after previously being declared competent by the Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) Digital Teknologi Informasi Indonesia (DITEKINDO) on 23 December 2025.

For the Head of the UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, this achievement is more than just administrative formality. “The year 2026 marks a milestone in strengthening human resource quality. We have really prepared our team to be globally competitive according to the competencies that each member possesses. This certification is proof —not just a claim,” Agus Rifai stated upon learning that the library team had received the official BNSP certification on Tuesday (23 Feb).

15 Desember 2025-Pelatihan Teknologi Digital Sertifikasi BNSPThe major effort began on 10–12 December 2025 through partnerships with LSP Stratup Campus and Syntaxnesia, with the team undergoing intensive training and a national competency assessment.

The certification covered several strategic competency areas aligned with digital transformation in academic services, including: Data Analyst, Desain Grafis, Digital Marketing, hingga Content Creator.

Priyo Supriyadi —IT system and library automation manager —is pursuing a Data Analyst program. Meanwhile, M. Ainur Rofiq and Rizki Mulyarahman are studying Graphic Design. Septian Nur Hakim is focusing on Digital Marketing. Maryulisman is honing his skills as a Content Creator.

For them, the certification exam was not just a written test but a demonstration of their technical abilities and practical work skills according to national standards. There was no room for “just good enough” or “work without standards.”

Sertifikasi BNSPAfter approximately 45 working days, the verification process was completed and the official BNSP certification was issued. This achievement sends a strong message that strengthening human resources is no longer optional but a necessity in higher education ecosystems where library services directly contribute to institutional reputation.

For the UIN Jakarta Library, this certification is not the finish line —but a foundation for transformation. Competence in data analysis will strengthen service data management, skills in graphic design and content creation will support more engaging literacy communication strategies, and digital marketing expertise will expand the reach of academic information in the digital space.

In many campuses, digital transformation ends with slogans. At UIN Jakarta, however, this step sends a clear message: institutional reputation and public trust cannot stand on human resources without standardized competencies.

Agus Rifai emphasizes that strengthening competencies is a long-term investment —not merely image building or cosmetic change.

In the end, this initiative represents the courage to openly measure quality.

Game over for unskilled human resources. Now, national competency standards are speaking.
