Explore 'JSTOR' e-resources with experts to search 'text analysis'

UIN Jakarta Library, News Online - Friday, August 02, 2024, UIN Jakarta Library held a discussion that dissects one of the e-resources, namely 'JSTOR'. This discussion presented three panelists who are experts in the field of digital resources and information, including Jaideep Gurwara, Nurul Hanisah Baharin, and Lie Ie Chiauo. This discussion, hosted by the Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, was attended by librarians and library managers at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

"This discussion aims to provide a deeper understanding of the use of JSTOR e-resources, an academic database that provides scientific journals and publications from various disciplines. It is expected that the academic community of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta can optimize the use of JSTOR e-resources for research and academic purposes." Agus said when giving a speech at the beginning of this discussion.

dokumentasi berita (7)Nurul Hanisah Baharin opened the discussion by explaining JSTOR as a research resource. She highlighted the quality of content available on JSTOR and provided guidance on how to conduct an effective search. "JSTOR offers access to thousands of academic journals from various fields, including humanities, social sciences, science and more, up to 86 disciplines." Miss Nurul (her nickname) said.

“Fitur Advanced in JSTOR allows users to create more complex and detailed searches," said Miss Nurul. She showed how to use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to combine keywords, as well as how to filter results by title, author or abstract.

dokumentasi berita (6)The next panelist, Lie Ie Chiaou discussed the technical aspects of using JSTOR, explaining the various tools and technologies that support these e-resources. "Text Analysis, allows researchers to extract information from a number of documents available on JSTOR, such as journal articles, books, and research reports. This method is very useful for identifying patterns, trends, and relationships in the vast literature." Lie Ie Chiao explained.
