UIN Jakarta Library Building, News Online – The selection process for the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library Ambassador 2025 has now entered its most decisive stage, today — Tuesday (June 17, 2025). Seven finalist students —from various academic programs—are ready to showcase themselves in the decisive interview session, after undergoing a series of rigorous selections since May 28, 2025, including portfolio reviews, literacy concepts, and public communication skills assessments.

This activity is part of the “Library Festival 2025” series, which runs from June 16 to 20, 2025. This annual program is held to encourage a culture of literacy, creativity, and student participation in the development of campus libraries.

“The selection of Library Ambassadors is not merely a ceremonial event. We want to present ambassadors who are not only knowledgeable, but also capable of becoming role models for other students in developing a culture of literacy at UIN Jakarta,” said Agus Rifai, Ph.D., Head of the UIN Jakarta Library and Chair of the Judging Panel, during an interview with the finalists.

In addition to Agus Rifai, two other judges who assessed the finalists were Sri Hidayati, M.Ed., a lecturer and campus literacy activist, and Nuryaman, S.Ptk., a young librarian at UIN Jakarta who is known for his active involvement in digital literacy programs.

Furthermore, Agus Rifai added that the selection of ambassadors serves as a collaborative platform for students who wish to actively contribute to the development and promotion of literacy within the UIN Jakarta campus environment.

The finalists were challenged to present innovative ideas on strengthening literacy, utilizing information technology in libraries, and strategies for increasing reading interest among young people on campus.

Who will be chosen as the UIN Jakarta Library Ambassador 2025? The answer will be announced at the peak of the Library Festival 2025, Friday (20/06). Look forward to surprises and inspiration from the campus literacy generation! *RMr
