Glorious Achievement! The Only One in PTKIN, UIN Jakarta's Female Professor Enters the World's Top Scientists List

Rectorate of UIN Jakarta, News Online - Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta should be proud, because one of its professors, Prof. Maila Dinia Husni Rahiem, M.A., Ph.D., is included in the list of Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2024. This achievement makes Prof. Maila the only scientist from the State Islamic Religious University (PTKIN) in Indonesia who has achieved recognition at the world level. This prestigious list, compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier BV, recognizes scientists with significant research contributions.

Maila (3)Rector UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his pride and appreciation for Prof. Maila's achievement, which is considered to make UIN Jakarta proud in the international arena. “This achievement not only honors the name of UIN Jakarta, but also becomes a real proof of the high quality of research and dedication shown by Professor Maila in the fields of education, artificial intelligence, and social sciences,” he said.

The same thing was also conveyed by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Karlie, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, this achievement is an important driver for UIN Jakarta in strengthening its position towards QS World University Ranking, one of the main targets under the leadership of the current Rector. “This achievement shows that UIN Jakarta and PTKIN are able to compete in the international arena, especially in the development of science that benefits the wider community,” he said.

In addition, Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., also gave the same appreciation. “I hope this achievement will inspire lecturers, researchers, and students of UIN Jakarta to continue to improve academic quality, and further strengthen our contribution in building the nation through science and research,” he appreciated.

The 2024 ranking data was obtained from the publication of the https://top2percentscientists.com/stanford-elsevier-top-scientists-list-2024/, Jumat (20/9/2024), Friday (20/9/2024). On this page, it is stated that the rankings are divided into two categories, namely the Top 2% Scientists throughout their careers and the Top 2% Scientists category with a single-year impact.

Stanford's Top 2% Scientists ranking is a scientific ranking system based on analysis of citation impact in various scientific fields using data from the Scopus database. The ranking highlights scientists who have the most cited work, evaluating the impact of their scientific work based on various metrics, both from the impact of citations throughout their career and the impact in the past year.

Globally, Prof. Maila is ranked 70,584 out of 100,000 scientists on the list, up from her position last year at 87,240. This achievement is based on an assessment of the citation impact of Prof. Maila's scientific work in three main scientific fields: Education, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Social Sciences. In Indonesia, she ranks second in Education, fourth in AI, and first in Social Sciences.

In addition to actively teaching as a Professor of Early Childhood Education and Social Welfare at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Maila (since 2023, until now) is trusted by the Rector to serve as Head of the International Cooperation Service Center (PLKI) - Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M) UIN Jakarta. *RMr
