Celebrating the 79th Indonesian Independence Day, UIN Jakarta Library Serves Traditional Food and Wedang Jahe After the Ceremony

UIN Jakarta Library, News Online - August 17, 2024 - The 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (HUT RI) celebration at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Jakarta was lively with various activities that evoke the spirit of togetherness. One of the most anticipated moments is the serving of traditional food from each unit/faculty.

After the flag ceremony that took place solemnly in the Student Center (SC) Hall of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, the participants were greeted with treats in the form of traditional food. No less interesting, UIN Jakarta Library spoiled the ceremony participants with traditional food and wedang ginger prepared by Mrs. Murdianah and Mrs. Muniroh.

A variety of traditional snacks such as boiled sweet potatoes, boiled corn and banana pais are served on the table with an appetizing appearance. Not only snacks, warm wedang ginger is also a perfect complement to the festive atmosphere. The traditional drink, which is known to be rich in health benefits, is served with a special blend by Mrs. Muniroh, so that it can provide warmth and comfort in the midst of the lively independence celebration.

“In this moment of independence celebration, we hope that this simple dish can be a link, strengthen friendship and a sense of togetherness among all of us,” said Mpok Mun-mun, her nickname.

This dish was greeted enthusiastically by the ceremony participants who not only enjoyed the taste of the food, but also felt the nuances of togetherness and memories of the past presented by this typical Indonesian snack. The 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration became even more lively with the atmosphere of intimacy created, which not only enjoyed the food, but also shared stories and memories of independence.
