Rectorate of UIN Jakarta, News Online - Outstanding achievements were made by students of the Faculty of Medicine of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The student delegation consisting of Azkiya Alika Putri Ahmudi, Muhammad Rafi Arifiansyah, Ilham Fitra Gunawan NR, and Habiburrahman Al Ghifari won a silver medal in the international science event, World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2024, which was held in Selangor, Malaysia, on September 18-24, 2024. The competition was attended by 585 teams from 15 countries around the world.

Under the guidance of Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, M.Eng., and Dr. dr. Alyya Siddiqa, Sp.FK., the team presented an applied science project entitled Propolis: Immunostimulant Evidence-based Medicine through Pharmacodynamic and Acute Toxicity Study in Sprague Dawley Rats. The research examined the potential of propolis as an immunostimulant, with pharmacodynamic and toxicity studies in rats, resulting in significant findings for health.

“We are proud to congratulate the Faculty of Medicine student team who has achieved brilliant achievements in this prestigious event,” said Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki M.Epid., Sp.OT. FICS, Dean of UIN Jakarta Faculty of Medicine. “This success marks the dedication and ability of students in developing science-based innovations that benefit the wider community. Hopefully this achievement will inspire them to continue working,” he added in an official statement released by the UIN Jakarta Information and Public Relations Center (PIH), Tuesday (24/9) yesterday.

On a separate occasion, in the Library Building on Wednesday (25/9), Head of UIN Jakarta Library, Agus Rifai, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the team that managed to make UIN Jakarta proud in the international arena. “Congratulations and success, for achieving a silver medal at the World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2024,” he said.

UIN Jakarta Library emphasizes its commitment to fully support the entire academic community of UIN Jakarta in achieving the best academic achievements at the international level. “We are ready to be a partner in the journey of the UIN Jakarta academic community towards achieving brilliant achievements and making UIN Jakarta proud at the international level,” added Agus.

The World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) is a global platform that brings together brilliant young innovators to showcase their inventions in various fields, from science, technological innovation, to commercialization. This achievement proves that UIN Jakarta students continue to play an active role in advancing science at the international level.
