UIN Jakarta Library, News Online - Main Auditorium, 09 July 2024 - The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar as-Syarif University, Cairo, Egypt, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad Ath-Thayyeb, again emphasized the importance of real action in solving the problems of the ummah. In a public lecture held at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, Prof. Ath-Thayyeb delivered an inspiring message that real action is more impactful than mere rhetoric.

"A thousand sermons will not solve problems but one action can solve a thousand problems," said Prof. Ath-Thayyeb. This statement emphasizes that while lectures and sermons are important for raising awareness and knowledge, concrete actions are much more effective in bringing about concrete changes in society.

Prof. Ath-Thayyeb's statement underscores the importance of concrete action in resolving the various issues facing Muslims today. While khutbahs and lectures have an important role to play in educating and inspiring, measured and planned concrete action is key to achieving the desired change. The statement also calls on Muslims to not only talk about problems, but also to be directly involved in finding solutions and taking concrete steps to resolve them. Thus, Muslims can be more effective in overcoming existing challenges and contribute positively to global civilization. (Rizki Mulyarahman)
